HELLO

I’m Giraluna,  a Caribbean poet from Aruba.

I’ve lived my whole life between cultures: raised by an Aruban mother and a Venezuelan father, now living in the Netherlands;  a third layer added to the mix.

Most of my adult life has been spent in that in-between, always pulled by the places and languages that shape me.
Poetry is how I stay connected — to where I’m from, who I am, who I’ve been, and who I’m still becoming.

Soon, I’ll be publishing Miel di Abeha: a collection of love written in Papiamento, for anyone who knows that sometimes love is language.
